0:00 Oh cute. I like the vocal samples. This is different
0:14 OHG DAAMAAAYAYYYUMMMMMM that is hot
0:27 Ooh i wish i could pick the chords to be honest but that string section gosh darn
0:58 It's got some super cute phasery things in there.
1:14 I like this part

kk that was cool :)

phosphorusprocedure responds:

No samples there, it's me singing. With Gsnap. Probably better plugins I could've used.
Beatbox too.

I probably could've picked better chords, or fleshed out the track a bit, but I already had some low freq and some high freq stuff, and I wasn't sure if I could add more without overstuffing the mix.

I could've interrupted the beat with some jazz shit though, that could've been tight.

Thanks for the review!

0:04 lol the notes. the NOTES
0:18 it's still got an interesting vibe though. like a creepy cartoon
0:30 that wii music violin
0;50 nintendo will hire you
1:00 it's kinda sweet and tacky though i like it a little
1:13 ooh those chords! ooh nice chords
1:23 then it kind of weirds up the progression a bit that bass is hilarious lol
1:34 WHOA WHAT WHOAAAAAAAAAAAA
1:41 WHERE AM IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
i have been transported into a horror
1:53 i wil have nightmares
2:00 i am dying please help me
2:06 oh it's happy again nothing to fear
2:20 so cute
k i'll finish now haha

Funny, seeing from back then. A bit repetitious but that horror bit in the middle oh my gosh i was scared. them melodies too. i think i need therapy lol

phosphorusprocedure responds:

That "horror" was my acoustic guitar but with crazy compression and that cheap shitty FL distortion plugin on there (the pre-Camel Crusher days).

Originally this thing had lyrics (really emo, cringe-worthy shit), but even my foolish pimple-faced teenage self felt it worked better as an instrumental.

I wish I worked for nintendo, haha. I'd love to be the music guy. I probably wouldn't get to use samples as much, though.

Oh, the strings are from DirectWave -- Cellular and Mellotron.

0:07 LOL that flanger hahahahahahahahaha
0:10 It's very cute and yeaah haha
0:18 Aw this is cute. Those off bass notes xD
0:33 Hahaha sorry i don't like the notes xDDDDD but they're hilarious
0:46 The flanger is kind of cool but the delay lol
0:54 Yah this is funny ;P If this is an old song, you've improved a lot. Especially in terms of varying things up. This track would benefit from a bit of progression.
1:25 I do kind of like that main riff though. and the final chord in the progression
1:39 DISTORTION WE GOIN HEAVY METAL RIGHT HUR
1:48 hahah
1:52 Well this is even good even way back when i feel inferior loooool

Yeah this is cool could use with some progression but you know I'm pretty sure you already know that ;) Love the throwback though ;P

phosphorusprocedure responds:

I wish I made the bassline louder. My favorite part was that one clearly wrong note it does. It really makes the chord pop.

0:00 Those chords are niiiiiiiiice
0:12 Very very well mixed. I like this.
0:19 Some of the riff is a bit strange again but that's your style
0:25 GROOOOOOOOOOOOVY LOVE this beat
0:35 Is this you sampling gat or playing it? Oh that's right you play the gat. This is really good if it's you
0:55 I LIKE the progression. This is hoot. hottttt.
1:07 very well composed. the ending is nice.

I love this one. Very good concept. Unique even from the rest of your catalogue. because of the acoustic vibe as well and it has a very nice vibe.

phosphorusprocedure responds:

Thanks -- yeah, it's me playing guitar. Like a year and a half ago, my cat chewed up my go-to guitar mic, so lately I've been using my laptop mic for guitar. It doesn't sound too bad if I eq it the right way, and the mic is hyper mega cardioid, so I don't even have to turn off my fan or anything to record.

Thanks for the review, man!

0:10 Chop start and stop
0:15 Interesting beat. I'm not sure I'm feeling the beat
0:28 Interesting, for sure. You could edit those main melodies they're a bit too dissonant for my liking ha
0:50 I still like the crazy manipulation of drums but there is a lot of empty space i'm trying to fill with my brain and it doesn't make sense because i'm not a rhythm master
1:15 haha i like your samples at the end

not bad. not my favourite by you but not bad :)

phosphorusprocedure responds:

I'm no rhythm master either, I just have the computer do all the work for me.

I think BOUILLE's really good at the whole tapping the drum hits in via a drumpad/keyboard or something like that. I have a Oxygen midi keyboard that could handle that sort of thing really well, but I'm just too lazy to hook it up sometimes, so I resort to weird ass methods to get different sounding drum patterns. Eventually, I'll do the patterns by hand. With time.

I could see how the choppiness is an acquired taste, though. There is mad space. fearing recommended hats to fill the space, but... I dunno, I have some kind of vendetta against hi-hats. I never know where to put them. I dunno...

Thanks for the review!

0:07 OOOOOH yes that sample
0:13 This type of one makes me want to collab so i can help with the melodies lol but then again the dissonance is part of your style I think I'd ruin it if I started to come up with my "in-scale" melodies that are candy coated xD
0:54 YES those manipulations
0:59 I really like the mixing in this one.
1:05 random riff haha
1:11 OHHHHHHH

Ends too soon in my opinion, still fantastic, leaves me wanting more, but maybe that's good because it'd make people press the replay button. Trustworthy!

phosphorusprocedure responds:

Thanks, dude!

0:16 Bass feels a bit too clipped in my opinion maybe too compressed. Kind of like how my leads are dry lol
0:35 It is a bit distorted but that might just be how it's supposed to be. Still sounds good though
0:46 I do like that little phased guitar riff in the back.
1:13 That lick in the back is quite pretty
1:20 That cry. Pretty interesting. I like. The ambience of this is very strong. Super strong ambience
1:30 That riff is cute. Very nice.
1:55 You're still different man. That's why I like u ^_^

Love.

phosphorusprocedure responds:

First time using FerricTDS, so I guess I went overboard with everything. I kinda dig the way the bass sounds, even if it's overpowering as all hell. I only mix using headphones, so maybe through speakers it sounds like doodooberries, but I'll never know, haha.

I used to shit on over-compression all the time, but now, it's a way of life. I'll never go back. Not a fan of babysitting the volume knob while listening to jazz or Mahler. Thanks for the review!

0:00 It is pretty loud hehe
0:20 That bassline is interesting
0:27 I admire how you have so many effects on everything and you make these weird sounds, it's something that I never do. I always focus on melody and composition over everything else because I lack the experimentation to truly make different sounds but this is great
0:55 There's that glitchiness. I like the swagger on the rhythm. Tightness.
1:11 OHOHOHHHHHHHH sample is nice
1:18 GOOD sampling on the drums because it's chopped up very tightly and it has little silences between each chop

This is highlight as well. Brilliance. Much love.

phosphorusprocedure responds:

Thanks for all these reviews, man! I didn't know you'd go on quite the spree, it'll take me a while to get through all these.

Funny thing about the drums -- no chopping at all. Just that method I talked about in the description. I let the glitch plugin and the sidechain do all the work. With the drum loop, I just dropped it in there, and made sure it looped correctly. That's it.

The bassline makes me laugh, because it sounds better on my shitty laptop speakers than it does on my dope-ass headphones. Must be the compression.

Thought I'd review back because I've been slack and haven't been listening and reviewing lately so let's go through your discog a little.

0:00 Trippy.
0:14 Interesting sample. Reversed. Tight-ish.
0:25 Oh my gosh yes that drum loop. Very tight
0:33 YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS DYING
0:40 This drum loop is amazing what the heck
0:48 WOUODUUDUUDUUUGUGUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
0:54 Those riffs and what is happening this is great
1:00 Nek level.
1:09 next. level.
1:22 Samples for days. jazz standards or what that might be

Yes that was tight that was ever so tight. No laziness. Super tight. I am super super jealous right now. Super jealous. Next level stuff right there. Not even lying. This is one of the best I've heard from you. Cheers.

phosphorusprocedure responds:

Haha, thanks, glad you dug it. I was trying to rip off Run the Jewels a bit here, with the crazy drums and everything. I feel like maybe I went a little too nuts with the sampling at the end, but otherwise it came out pretty good.

everyone matters
