This is pretty well produced. It has nice mixing on it, and it has a general happy vibe. It's got a nice atmosphere, and it works well.

Perhaps tone it down a bit so it doesn't overwhelm the listener, and maybe provide some progression in the song. Maybe have a verse where you put a low pass filter on some of the instruments, and then fade it in, or something. Otherwise it's good.

Cheers and keep working on this. It sounds good, just needs a few little tweaks and lengthen it into a song.

thanks allot bro and yeah you are right about overwhelming the listener. so stay tuned and i will take use your tips. thanks!!

Wow! I wanna hear your verse on this! The beat is pretty great, but the vocals are a bit loud. They kind of overpower a bit. But other than that, looking forward to this 5-min epic track :D

yes it's going to be great benny, lol, i just need some time on my hands bro :-/

DEM CHORDS KILL ME BRAH

But seriously at about the point of 0:40 I was overcome with awe at your chord placing. You're a miniature Hudson Mohawke, really. Except maybe not as bombastic, but more chilly and contemplating. Yeah, I like that.

phosphorusprocedure responds:

I don't know who that is... googling him now.

I disagree with Gede. The bleed through gives character. I can't remember whether it was one of the guys from Portishead or something that said that when mics pick other instruments up in the same room it's even better. Or it might have been the guy off the Shins. But hey, this is great, bluesy rock with some intense cool riffs and chords. Just lovin' it

phosphorusprocedure responds:

Thanks, although I think the bleed is perhaps more the result of me being too lazy to wear headphones while I was recording, but if it makes it sound better to you, well I can't complain. Thanks for the review.

I like your composing. It always sounds interesting. The 0:30 bit was a bit murky, but hey, your drums are packin' some serious punch :) DAT RIFF

phosphorusprocedure responds:

Haha, thanks. What good's a riff if it's not a good riff, eh?

This is fantastic, absolutely fantastic. Your riffs mesh well, and your chords are beautiful. I don't really know how you do it, it almost sounds like a score for an old Ed Wood film. In a good way. You know with all those horrorful "woooOoOoOoooos" that go on when something scary happens. Wait, is that a theremin in the background? Either way, it's fantastic. Keep it up, boy! You're great at this :)

phosphorusprocedure responds:

It's not a theremin, actually - it's a plugin from http://kunz.corrupt.ch/products - this bass synthesizer on a preset called Asia Lead, with the arpeggiator turned on. It helped make the melody stick out a little more. I'm glad you liked it, thanks for the review.

0:00 Very nice and steampunk-y.
0:30 Those delaying synths are sounding very nice and post-futuristic.
0:38 Wow those pads are sweet! Where you get that ambience bro.
0:50 Those hi's are a bit jarring. They're not... EQ'd right or something? Not too sure.
1:13 Not sure I like all those chords you're making. They don't always fit into the melody.
1:30 But it does sound suitably epic.
1:45 OK the stop-go thing is very nice and builds tension quite well. WAITIN FOR DROP BOI :P
2:02 A nice mood piece.
2:30 More of the same. It's nice though. This could loop easily. The futuristic theme is pulled off quite well.
2:50 About to finish... let's see how you do. Oh, a fade out. That works too.

OK, so you pull out the futuristic card, and it works for you. It has the mechanistic kind-of flow to it, which is nice. You pull off the ambience quite well, with your synths and pads and stuff. The hi-hat to the drum is jarring, due to EQ-ing or compression or something (not quite sure what). But yeah, overall the vibe is good. String chords could be improved in my opinion, they didn't quite gel well with the song. My opinion, dude. Overall, good though.

Cheers.
