0:05 Oh wow this is fantastic. Those drums slap so well!
0:13 It's dirty. It actually reminds me a bit of Kanye's "Gorgeous" beat in its composition.
0:29 WOW THAT IS FANTASTIC
this is one of the best beats i've heard from you. it's fantastic.
0:43 Very well produced. I can picture someone rapping over this definitely.
0:50 WOW LOVE THIS. it gets even better. this is amazing
truly one of the best beats you've ever made
1:05 Please someone rap over this well. It'd make my day.
1:15 This could even be a great rock song, like a kind of Arctic Monkeys "Suck It and See" type composition. Apologies if you hate that album... it's a guilty pleasure of mine :)

Love it. Love love love it. It's fantastic. One of my favourite beats of yours, ever. putting it in my favourite bank ^_^

Lol, this was before I realized I could plug my guitar directly into the computer, without that weird electrical noise thing going on. I don't know what to use my amp for. I tried incorporating my amp in my setup yesterday, and it didn't sound different at all.

I think I took boring 808 drums from some sample pack, and cranked FerricTDS on them, and that's how they sound. EZ, haha

My friend was bugging me to listen to arctic monkeys. I'll def put it in the list.

Thanks for digging the track, man!

0:13 This is cute and bouncy. Like it. As you said, it's pretty hissy. I wonder if you can use a Fruity Limiter to reduce the noise using a gate? Either way, it's groovy and neat.

Love it. ^_^

phosphorusprocedure responds:

If I used my preamp while recording this, the hiss would've have been a problem, but at the time this was recorded, I didn't have it.

Oh well. I could use a gate, but I'd have to rerecord each of the 4 tracks individually and re-combine them, and I just recently discovered that the tape machine has audio sync drift, so different tracks slowly drift out of tempo. That was surprising, lol.

Thanks for the review, man!

0:06 The groove is real.
0:10 I can hear a bit of distortion. Is that just me? If it's there, it could be removed a little?
0:23 I like the phaser's rhythm. Is it gross beat? Either way it's cool
0:35 OOH this is a sweet spot.
0:39 Love the progression of this beat.
0:44 A bit messy just prior to this timestamp
0:54 I love the riff.
1:02 Sounds exactly like Jelly and Jam :)
1:09 OOH this is so cut. LOVE IT
1:16 yesssss those chords

Love this beat. So good. I'm not sure if the distortion is merely on my end but either way, the composition was great. love it.

phosphorusprocedure responds:

Yeah, it's distortion. I had the guitar coming in a little too hot into my 4-track. I guess at the time I thought it sounded cool and payed no mind, but now that I'm listening to it, I guess it's a bit much.

Yeah, that chord thing is gross beat. I used to use fruity love philter for all my tempo-based gates but gross beat works way better for what I want.

Thanks for digging the track, man! (lots of reviews, holy cow -- i'll get to them as soon as I can. Thanks, zigzag)

0:11 I like the progression here. Very nice. Those strums are in the background
0:20 I love the lo-fi feel
0:25 OOOOH the progression. Cuttttt
0:32 So neat.
0:37 gotta love
0:40 Ah it gets better.

This one's brilliant. Needs to be made into a beat. Simply brilliant.

phosphorusprocedure responds:

Chord progression is Cm7 Am7 Cmaj7 Amaj7
I thought it was cool because a) the C A thing repeats, but
b) in the middle of that pattern, the key changes. Am7 and Cmaj7 fit into C, but Cm7 and Amaj7 fit into... some other weird key I guess? Mentally I'm thinking C A C A, but it's really like ? C C ?.

The guitars had fruity phaser on the subtle preset on there, which made it sound pretty cool.

1:16 Hot beat. Sick beat. Utilizes sample well.
1:23 I can't see much wrong with this. Mixed extremely well. You've got a new fan. FAVOURITED
1:40 I wanna see someone rap over this. This is very solid.
1:48 I wanna be able to make my snare pop like dat.
1:54 OOH filter time
1:58 Yes. Boom baps.
2:03 Gat solo. woot.
2:08 yeah boiiiiiiii. strings would be awesome to layer.
2:15 ooh that stuttering of the beat. supah hot fire.

This is great. Love the beat. FAVOURITED you as an artist. looking forward to what you have to offer in future.

Cheers!

Thanks very much :)

0:03 OOh yes i like that riff a lot.
0:08 OH yes. I love the progression. Yes.
0:16 The delay on that lead is too good. More of that
0:26 AHHHHHHHHHHHHH yes please
0:30 This is fantastic. Where did you get those samples from? They're so good? Are they you?
0:42 Is that G-Snap i hear? It's fantastic sounding no matter what
0:51 YES love it. love it to bits.
0:57 love this progression..........
1:03 i just want more. and the below reviewer is right. it'd make a great beat
1:15 love these vocals

I love what you did with this, especially the vocals. They're so fantastic. I'd remix this if I felt I could make something out of it. I might try... maybe... either way, it's fantastic. Love it! :)

ZigZag

phosphorusprocedure responds:

I think the higher vocals are FL Pitcher and the lower one is GSnap. I tried improvising 3 or 4 vocal parts, but it went kinda out of tune, so I pitch-corrected them. Pitcher works better, but it taps out if the input is too low in pitch. Gsnap sounds kinda sketchy, but it has a wider range in which it operates.

Delay on the guitar was a new thing. It sounded pretty good.

Thanks for digging it!

0:05 This one is really smooth! I like the phased out guitars... I believe they are?
0:20 I wonder what it would sound like without the riff?
0:40 There's a layer under the riff that I'm really liking here. It really comes out at 0:50 onwards.
0:56 Yes I like this layer of guitars a lot. It's quite soothing.
1:13 Quite free form.
1:25 Haha the beat goes on. and on.
1:38 hehe
1:45 Little random things at the end. Cheeky :)

I liked it. A little sparse towards the end, but mostly groovy. There was the part in the middle with the Thundercat-esque layering that I absolutely loved. <3

ZigZag

0:03 No quantizing, haha. I know that feel. Trying to keep the groove too.
0:13 Is that snare on a very short release or something? It's interesting.
0:25 Those keys.
0:28 You could put a little delay on that riffing synth, I think? I dunno. It might be nice.

That ended pretty quickly, but I liked it. It was groovy. And I can tell you were playing around with the unquantized feel of the beat. When I'm creating a groovy beat, I'm not always sure what to quantize and what not to. It's like you want to preserve the feeling of the song but also make it feel like isn't completely off-rhythm. Nice track!

0:03 Groovy already! I like it.
0:09 That groovy kick. Mmmmmhm.
0:17 Those are some nice guitar licks.
0:24 That is an interesting riff. I like the sharpness of the notes.
0:34 You're a person who likes the unconventional.
0:47 I dunno if you're supposed to use thumb or two fingers, I just wing it.
0:58 It sounds good, though.
1:03 This part in particular I like. You could loop that over and over again and have a beat.
1:21 OOH nice riff at the finale. I feel like you could have gone on further with this track.

Nice groovy beast, this one. Really smooth. Could have gone on longer. I was enjoying it. :)

ZigZag

0:00 Smooth.
0:06 I really like that popping snare.
0:12 Nice gat riffs.
0:17 Ooh. That organ. Is it an organ? Or a really processed guitar riff? Underneath... the phased one. Does it have Gross Beat on it too?
0:44 The guitar samples could be clean up here.
0:54 Love the deep breadth of the gat strings.

This was really nice and kind of experimental. I liked it. :)

ZigZag

phosphorusprocedure responds:

Yup. It's not an organ, it's my electric guitar. I put gross beat on there because I thought it was too distracting as a melody, since there were other melodies going on. Plus, rhythmically, it was really sloppy.

I think everything else was my bass guitar. Even some of the chords. I was messing around with how to get chords on there, and it took a weird hand position, but it sounded kinda cool.

Thanks for the review, man!

everyone matters
